Two meetings planned at UC Davis today


DAVIS, Calif. (KGO) --
Two more meetings are expected to draw angry crowds once again to UC Davis today. The backlash is growing over police using pepper spray on 'occupy' protesters




UC Chancellor Linda Katehi is going to try again to talk with students about the pepper spraying incident today. She has scheduled a town hall meeting for 4:00 p.m. on the UC Davis campus.

Yesterday she addressed a crowd of about 1,000 people. In her remarks, she apologized for Friday's incident in which two campus police officers pepper sprayed seated, student protesters. But her words did not appease her audience as students shouted her down.

YouTube: UC Davis Protestors Pepper Sprayed The students are calling for the chancellor to resign and they've resumed their "occupy" protest. There are now twice as many tents on campus and a metal dome structure. Plus, people are dropping of food donations. The faculty advisor to the chancellor says he does not know of any plans to dismantle the camp, this time.

The student body has planned a meeting for 2:00 this afternoon. At her town hall meeting at 4:00, Chancellor Katehi will apparently speak at length about what happened and will answer questions.
