SAN JOSE (KGO) --
The San Jose chapter of the Hells Angels lost its president last weekend in a shooting in Nevada. Right now police are looking for the suspect. Hoping they can get to him before revenge minded Hells Angels do.




A flag at was at half staff at the San Jose Hells Angels clubhouse. In front there was a candle and some flowers - red and blue -- the colors of the club.

This all began Friday night at the John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino in Sparks, Nevada - just outside of Reno.

Story: SJ Hells Angels president killed in casino shooting San Jose Chapter President Jeffrey "Jethero" Pettigrew shot and killed during a fight with the Vagos motorcycle gang during the "street vibrations" biker festival. Remaining events have been canceled. Law enforcement in California and Nevada are hoping to head-off retaliation.

San Jose Police Sgt. Larry Day told our media partner the Mercury News -- This incident could definitely result in retaliation against the Vagos and a full blown war that may result in deadly violence in San Jose and throughout California.

What police would like is that the suspect in the killing of Pettigrew turn himself in. Law enforcement feels that Hells Angels members are looking for him too and another death could lead to more violence.
