Hwy 85 shut down due to car with possible explosives


SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) --
Police have shut down all lanes in both directions of Highway 85 in San Jose near Almaden Expressway because of a car that might have a bomb inside.




Two suspects robbed a nearby Bank of America on Snell Avenue around 11:30 a.m. One suspect fled in the car onto Highway 85 where he crashed. The other ran onto the Gunderson High School campus, which remains on lockdown. Both suspects were apprehended.

The suspects claimed to have a bomb in the car. The highway was shut down as a precaution while police investigate the claim.
