I have been working with IBM DB2 content management family of product on multiplatforms for a number of years now (since version 7), and like most of you, I ran into a lot of issues and FRUSTRATION (more wrinkles and gray hair...). Unfortunately for some inexplicable reason IBM does not have a user community for this product, unlike lotus, etc on developerworks. Basicaly the only resources I had was the business partner, IBM's level 2 defect support or IBM's consult line (fee based service). So I decided to do something about it and start this board where we can share our experiences and tips for using IBM's complicated products.

Why this board you ask with the goofy emoticons? Just because my friend's running it and he promised I would get whatever resources/privileges I need (space, bw, whatever). Besides, the emoticons are kinda cute. Yeah...whatever.

So a little about me. Like I said, I have been working extensively with IBM's CM family of products for a number of years. and thorugh this winding road I had to get certified in alot of IBM products like websphere, cm, and db2. I do not claim to be an expert in anything outside of cm as cm itself does not involve alot of complex functionalities that, say, db2 has to offer.

I do setups, config, write code occasionally in websphere (never written a db2 stored procedure in my life...kinda want to keep it that way).

So feel free to post any questions related to this stuff. i could probably lend some help or insight on content manager, Information Integrator for Content, eclient, document manager, websphere and db2. (again I am not a coder so I don't necessarily know how to use II4C to code).

I'm happy to share my experiences with IBM certification tests also.

If you can also help contribute or get others to contribute, we can make this community a great resource for us working with these ____ IBM products (fill in the blank with whatever adjective you like).

Hopefully the board will become a useful resource that complements your other (or lack of?) resources you're getting from IBM.
